Hi hello I’m Jose Mendez aka Plants. I’ve gone on some long runs, done some longer thru hikes, climbed some tall things, dropped some narrow canyons, and splashed around in some cold water. Since 2021, I’ve been fortunate enough to get to do those things professionally, working as an outdoor guide for a number of amazing organizations. I’m currently a lead backpacking and canyoneering guide for Andrew Skurka Adventures and a Field Instructor for the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS).
Legally I live in Long Beach, California but my true home is wherever my current adventure is.
